Zabbix monitoring review

  • May 16, 2024
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The single best thing about zabbix is that it's completely free but without lacking anything compared to commercial monitoring tools. It covers pretty much everything from windows servers, esxi servers, HTTP endpoints till our UPS. It produces meaningful graphs and has triggers for each alert. Also it integrates with a lot of tools like Pagerduty to receive alerts. Overall its a complete enterprize level monitoring solution for the infrastructure
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say zabbix has 2 downsides. The first is that you need to configure everything and it can be intimidating if you are not experienced user and the second is the web scenarios for http endpoint monitoring isnt neither great nor straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zabbix solves our biggest problem. We didnt have any monitoring at all. Now with zabbix i have everything monitored and with the powerful triggers i get alerts the second it happens. Mainly i use it for our datacenter monitoring and by that i mean 300 VMs , server hardware health status via snmp (dell servers), cisco routers via snmp.as.well and our main UPS..also we have 10 branches and i monitor our local NAS devices we have at each branch (health and metric like storage) as well as the networking devices. This way i have a very clean picture of the total network and datacenter we have in the company. From capacities, performance, and reliability

What do you like best about the product?
We have used zabbix for monitoring our all server and all our website.
And we can create our own templets with that we can make how we need to monitor and what need to be monitor.
Not only server but the application can be also monitored with zabbix.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some time the zabbix server is not able to connect for zabbix agent this is a bit issue but a it resolves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solve one of the biggest problem that when our infra is not working fine or any issue is there it sends notification on multiple places like slack, mail.
So with help of this we can identify problems when it start and resolve as soon as possible so loss is less for our bussiness.

What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix promptly reports any real-time problems it detects on an asset. This allows action to be taken with excellent timing to prevent a failure. Easy to use and quick to install.
What do you dislike about the product?
The greater the asset compartment the greater the hardware requirements of the zabbix server. Very powerful software that offers many opportunities, including through script writing, which can prove difficult for novices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zabbix allows me to detect problems, such as excessive loads on servers or high temperatures on other equipment, and so I can intervene promptly and avoid failures

For beginners sometimes it might be face complexity to understand the user interface. But after using some days it can be overcome. But considering customizable features it's an excellent product for monitoring networks.

As I'm working at an Internet service provider. I need to monitor a large number of POP & my client's network. I can customize features as per my requirements. As I need to monitor many sensitive networks zabbix helps me to provide trigger updates. It provides flexible alerting and notification mechanisms.
