Helpful tool for daily tasks
What do you like best about the product?
Handling everything with the Palo Alto is very smooth. The dashboard is clean and also very easy to do navigation , and I like how it handles traffic depending on applications, users, content. It gives strong insights into network activity, which really helps with troubleshooting. Details like threat detection and URL filtering are good, and WildFire adds an additional layer of safety through catching threats before.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, it’s pretty solid overall, but the updates can feel kinda slow or annoying sometimes. If you’re new to it, it takes a bit to figure things out like, setting up those detailed rules isn’t super friendly. Also, it’s little pricey, so probably not the best for small setups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Your firewalls make things very easier when it comes to keeping our network safe. We used to spend a lot of time dealing with security issues manually, but now it catches most threats on its own. It’s nice how it shows detailed traffic info and blocks risky stuff before it even becomes a problem. It definitely saves us a lot time.

AI-Powered Threat Detection and Autonomous Real-Time Protection
What do you like best about the product?
By employing preemptive thread detection and autonomous real-time protection, Palo Alto Networks' Next-Generation Firewalls empower organizations to promptly identify and neutralize potential security breaches. This empowers them to optimize performance by prioritizing critical processes during startup, leading to significantly faster boot times. It also enables AI-driven analysis of system behavior right from the start.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the AI integration offers numerous benefits, a potential drawback is the lack of transparency. It's challenging to understand why traffic is blocked or threats flagged, creating a 'black box' effect, hindering trust and making auditing difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls use Malware Analysis and Sandboxing to identify and prevent malicious software from harming our systems. This saves our business time and money by preventing data breaches and other security incidents.
Review of Palo Alto Networks Services
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to access, UI that is simplified, since I use it on the daily, Implentation part is great as well with our Customer base (number wise) When it comes to number of features, they are all fine, and when it comes to ease of integration, I would say it is pretty good at doing being integrated with our technologies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Intermittent drops during my shift, I would love for it to be less disconnecting, as we do use high quality internet service at work.
When it comes to Customer Support it is really important for it to stay up and running all the time.
When it comes to Customer Support it is really important for it to stay up and running all the time.

PANW next gen firewalls review
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and integrate - already integrated in the AWS marketplace and accounts. One of the standout features is the firewall's ability to identify and control applications regardless of port, protocol, or encryption. This allows us to use it at the application level. It is easy to implement as well with standard protocols and libraries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Trust and safety is still a concern since it is an external firewall and security system as compared to inhouse or self developed systems. Many aspects of the firewall are abstracted which do not give as much level of control sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The PAN next gen firewalls are helping with setting up security settings and safeguards for our web applications, APIs and other resources exposed to our customers. We use it to detect and block unwanted or risky applications while allowing safe ones to function when we rely on other applications. We also inspect and analyze encrypted traffic for threats before they can enter the network. This gives us visibility into our threats, risks and top security concerns.
My experience with Palo Alto
What do you like best about the product?
I like the visibility that the firewalls provide. The automation is probably the best part about it. It is relatively intuitive compared to other legacy firewalls
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it is a little too pricey. For meraki I can justify the price because not only do I get more (customization and reliability) but it is worth its value
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
App-ID helps with dynamic/non-standard ports. Controlling the traffic based on the actual application and not just the port (as opposed to traditional firewalls)
Convenient and feature-rich but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and quick integration make it a very useful tool, especially considering all the features it contains. It has also been very easy to onboard people to teach them how to use it, which hasn't been my experience with some competitors. Overall, it does it's job of securing our systems well.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my experience, it essentially just boils down to the cost. It is noticeably pricier compared to it's alternatives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a very robust firewall solution that has been easy to work with. I am on the user side of things, so not entirely sure how hard it is to maintain, however I do have experience setting it up and that was pretty easy to figure out. I haven't needed support (which is a good thing, of course) so I don't know much about that side of things.
