New courses and updates from AWS Training and Certification in March 2023

In March 2023, AWS Training and Certification released 27 digital products including 14 AWS Builder Labs, an AWS Jam Journey (analytics), two courses for AWS Partners, three courses for c-suite leaders, and a classroom course on AWS security best practices, to equip individuals with the skills to work with AWS services and solutions. Exam labs have been temporarily removed from the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate exam. To help organizations scale skill-building with their teams, AWS Skill Builder Team subscription is now available in 50 countries.

Introduction to Robotics on AWS (30 minutes) is designed for technical staff who use AWS for robotics development. During this course, you’ll learn how to use AWS to help accelerate your robotics development and solve common challenges for robotics companies.

Securely Connecting AWS IoT Devices to the Cloud (60 minutes) is designed for technical staff and teaches how to securely connect a device to the cloud using AWS IoT Core, ensuring proper set up of an AWS IoT policy.

.NET Workloads on AWS App Runner (2 hours) is designed for developers learning to code and deploy containerized applications on AWS using C# and Visual Studio. During this course, you’ll learn to build and test C# code within your containers, store and launch images into the AWS Cloud using AWS App Runner, and how to construct and operate scalable, containerized workloads on the AWS Cloud.

.NET Workloads on AWS Lambda (3 hours) is designed for application developers who are new to AWS serverless compute services, teaching you how to create, deploy, and manage AWS Lambda functions in their current and future applications.

Handling AWS IoT Device Data and States (2 hours) is designed for technical staff who use AWS to handle Internet of Things (IoT) data. During this course, you’ll learn about telemetry and IoT communication protocols and how to use IoT device data in the AWS Cloud.

Intermediate

Using AWS Solutions – AWS Cloud Migration Factory (90 minutes) is designed for technical individuals, such as solutions architects and server administrators, and teaches the key features, use cases, components, and architecture of AWS Cloud Migration Factory so you can plan and perform large-scale server migrations.

Advanced

Planning Large-Scale Data Migrations to AWS (60 minutes) is designed for technical individuals, such as storage engineers and cloud architects, and teaches the key concepts, considerations, and requirements for large-scale data migrations to AWS and how to create a data migration plan using the appropriate AWS storage service.

Training for AWS Partners

Intermediate

AWS Partner: Mainframe Modernization Proof of Concept Scoping with AWS Blu Insights (Technical) (70 minutes) is designed for solutions architects and project managers at an AWS Partner organization who qualify mainframe refactoring projects. During this course, you’ll learn how to narrow a Proof of Concept (POC) scope to transform the legacy codebase of a mainframe application and how to define the POC perimeter with AWS Blu Insights.

AWS Partner: AWS Mainframe Modernization Automated Refactor Transformation Center (Technical) (75 minutes) is designed for solutions architects at an AWS Partner organization who gather modernization requirements. During this course, you’ll learn how to transform and refactor mainframe legacy applications from COBOL to Java through AWS Blu Insights, and how to use AWS Mainframe Modernization Automated Refactor Transformation Center to resolve code errors, create code refactoring, and implement custom transformation.

AWS Certification

As of March 28, 2023, the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate exam will not include exam labs until further notice. This removal is temporary while we evaluate the exam labs and make improvements to provide an optimal candidate experience. Engage in the Best of re:Invent Analytics 2022 is an AWS Jam Journey comprised of analytics challenges featured at our AWS re:Invent 2022 competition and is designed for anyone interested in leveraging analytics skills to complete hands-on, gamified challenges. This Jam Journey joins learning paths for Security, Networking, Machine Learning, Database, Games, and DevOps.

Fundamental

Getting Started with Amazon Textract: Process Documents with Synchronous and Asynchronous Operations (60 minutes) is designed for developers, data engineers, and machine learning engineers who are responsible for every step of the data process. In this lab, you’ll connect to and learn how to navigate the pre-built AWS Cloud9 environment to review the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) project files and Python packages used by the two Amazon Textract workflows, test the synchronous workflow to extract information from a single-page document, and test the asynchronous workflow to extract information from a multi-page document.

Build, Secure, and Monitor Networks on AWS (2 hours) is designed for DevOps and infrastructure engineers who are responsible for creating the systems and network needed for computer cloud systems. In this lab, you’ll help ‘AnyCompany’ scale and secure their AWS network environment.

Working with Amazon VPC Network Access Analyzer (60 minutes) is designed for system operations administrators and engineers who manage the state of all cloud-hosted systems to ensure required business up-time objectives are realized. During this lab, you’ll learn how the Amazon VPC Network Access Analyzer helps to understand network configurations and how to identify configurations that can lead to unintended network access.

Walkthrough of the AWS Well-Architected Tool (30 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, cloud engineers, and cloud operations professionals and teaches how to use the Well-Architected Tool to create and update a workload and review a Well-Architected Tool report.

Intermediate

Zero Trust Architecture for Service-to-Service Workload (75 minutes) is designed for systems operations administrators and engineers and teaches the skills needed to successfully implement and verify security controls to enforce zero trust principles to the service-to-service architectures.

Building with Amazon Redshift Clusters (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who need to use Amazon Redshift to efficiently analyze data using existing business intelligence tools. During this lab, you’ll use the AWS Management Console and SQL Workbench to experiment with different table layouts and schema designs.

.NET Workloads on AWS Lambda (60 minutes) is designed for .NET stack developers who want an understanding of how to leverage AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio to write and launch a serverless function into the AWS Cloud. During this course you’ll learn how to deploy, modify, and invoke serverless .NET applications into the AWS Cloud using AWS Lambda.

Migrating RDS MySQL to Aurora with Read Replica (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who want to test their skills at migrating data from Amazon RDS MySQL to Amazon Aurora. During this lab, you’ll perform a migration of data from MySQL to Aurora with guidance.

Building Highly Available Web Application (2 hours) is designed for system operations administrators and engineers who work hands-on with web server technologies, and are looking to quickly and easily build a highly-available web app with AWS. During this lab, you’ll learn how set up a highly available three-tier web application in your own AWS account using core AWS services.

Building with Amazon RDS Databases (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who require a fully automated database solution to manage replication, failover, monitoring, notifications, and backups. During this lab, you’ll learn how to set up and configure an Amazon RDS Multi-AZ failover and encryption, and implement AWS Secrets Manager.

Building with Amazon Aurora Databases (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who want to learn how to automate administrative database tasks with Amazon Aurora. During this lab, you’ll investigate how and when parallel query can benefit your workload, scale with large datasets, and be automatically engaged during some situations.

Building with Amazon DocumentDB Databases (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who need an understanding of how to load and manage relational and nonrelational data into Amazon DocumentDB. During this lab, you’ll look into an approach to convert a relational data model to a non-relational data model, and import the converted data to Amazon DocumentDB.

Building with Amazon DynamoDB Tables (60 minutes) is designed for solutions architects, database architects, and developers who need to understand how Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon DynamoDB Accelerator can be used to automate managing data imported from a JSON data set. During this lab, you’ll learn how to manage Amazon DynamoDB by running queries to meet business objectives, investigate backup and performance monitoring options, and use Amazon DynamoDB Accelerator cluster to boost performance of read/write operations.

Advanced

Observing, Troubleshooting, and Optimizing Workloads Running on Amazon ECS (90 minutes) is designed for solutions architects and developers who want to learn how to troubleshoot Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) issues with load balancers, services and container instances. During this lab you’ll learn how to deploy and maintain an application hosted on a cluster of Amazon ECS containers.

Free, fundamental digital training

Cloud for CFOs (13 minutes) is designed for chief financial officers and individuals who are responsible for managing financial actions of an organization. During this course, you’ll learn what the cloud is, why you should care about the cloud, keys things to consider before moving to the cloud, your role during a cloud transformation, challenges you may experience, and how to engage with CIOs in a cloud migration.

Cloud for CIOs (9 minutes) is designed for chief information officers and vice presidents and directors of IT who are responsible for managing an organization’s information systems. During this course, you’ll learn what the cloud is, why you should consider moving to the cloud, how to succeed with cloud, and how to get started.

Digital Transformation for Executives (7 minutes) is designed for executive leaders who create and execute business strategies, introduce policies, and ensure an organization reaches its goals. During this course, you’ll learn what digital transformation is, why it’s important, and how to implement transformation.

AWS Classroom Training

Security Engineering on AWS is a three-day, intermediate classroom training, delivered by an expert AWS instructor, designed to teach security engineers, security architects, cloud architects, and cloud operators the AWS-recommended security practices to enhance the security of your data and systems in the cloud. This course includes eight modules and seven new hands-on labs that teach you to use AWS security services including Amazon Security Lake, AWS Guard Duty, Amazon Detective, and more.
